R&R for VETS Projects focus on a wide range of home improvement endeavors. These include repairing or replacing roofs, ramp installation, disability remodeling, repair of damaged interiors, and emergency home services. Moreover, this initiative supports veterans and their surviving spouses by offering these services at no cost.

Rooted in Santa Fe, New Mexico, our reach predominantly covers Santa Fe County. However, we also branch out to aid veterans in the western parts of San Miguel, Taos, and Mora Counties.

It is worth noting that New Mexico is home to a significant population of approximately 150,000 veterans. Many grapple with physical injuries or confront mental health challenges such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Moreover, many veterans are receiving support from the Department of Veteran Services. Those who require our services get referred to our organization.

Additionally, we have partnered with the Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity. This partnership extends assistance to veterans who reside within the city limits of Santa Fe, New Mexico. In cases where Habitat encounters a veteran applicant residing outside the city limits, they direct the referral to our organization.

R&R for VETS steps in to help veterans and their surviving spouses at their greatest time of need.  And we stand out for swift delivery of emergency services. This includes urgent actions such as replacing a refrigerator for storing medications and installing a functional window air conditioner in the summer heat. Furthermore, we repair well pumps for veterans with no water and assist disabled veterans in wheelchairs. We prioritize and address emergencies promptly.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS: R&R FOR VETS PROJECTS  –

TRANSFORMING HOME REPAIR CHALLENGES FOR STRUGGLING VETERANS

Interactions with applicants shed light on a concerning reality. These applicants often have incomes at or below the poverty threshold. Consequently, they cannot tackle necessary repairs while still being affordable. They feel frustrated witnessing their homes deteriorate. As a result, when desperation sets in, an initially manageable repair turns into a major undertaking.

Moreover, we aim to bolster community awareness and collaborate with local organizations to identify and actively assist veterans facing challenges. Emphasizing the accessibility of existing support programs for veterans is essential. Therefore, by escalating our outreach efforts, we can extend aid to more veterans with affordable repair needs, mitigating substantial costs.

Regrettably, certain individuals seeking assistance endure wait times. The R & R for Vets website educates the community about the support we offer local veterans and their surviving spouses. We aim to enhance our applicants’ lives by providing the invaluable gift of “A DRY HOME – A SAFE HOME.”

You are invited to join our community-driven initiative and stand with us to make a profound difference in the lives of those who have selflessly served our nation. We humbly ask for your support, whether through a donation or by considering sponsorship of one of our programs. Please reach out to us so that we can discuss how you can contribute to this noble cause. Your involvement truly matters.
